Until recently, white wines from the area could only be classified as “Coteaux du Languedoc”. In 1993, the A.O.C. Saint-Chinian Syndicate applied to include white wines under the A.O.C. Finally, in 2004, it was granted and white wines can now be labelled A.O.C. Saint-Chinian.● Blended wine● Main grape varieties:   Grenache Blanc, Marsanne,   Roussanne, Vermentino (or   Rolle)● Additional grape varieties:  Carignan Blanc, Clairette,  Viognier, Macabeo,  Bourboulenc● Minimum alcohol content: 12°● Maximum yield: 45hl/ha● Typicity: white wines are  distinguished by their  complexity of aromas – a blend  of fresh fruits (citrus,  apricots), nutty aromatics and  soft spices. Also, if grown on  schist soil, notes of mineral  and aniseed
